I made this little guy in Maya, It took me about 8 hours. I was following a tutorial in a book I purchased.

Emma has been praticing and trying out for the drill team at her school for over a week.20 girls out of 60 got selected and 12 returning girls where trying out. She made the team.

Last night work was rockin. Its good to make money.Sony is tempting me big time with the new price on the ps2(129.99). There are a couple of games on that system I realy want to play, MGS2 and MGS3 .

Cheryl was cleaning out her hope chest the other day and she found a couple of interesting things. One was a letter to me from some girl named Niki warning me that some punkers where planning on kicking my ass after school. I have no recollection of this so either it never happened or I got my ass kicked so bad I cant remember it. The other was a "Christian" window/bumper sticker that she doesn't remember buying or who gave it to her. If I was the type of person that put stickers on my car I think this would be the funniest thing ever( well pretty funny anyway).

Loredana had her last day of preschool today. Four years come and gone. Jack has three years left there and then we be all done with the CCSN preschool after ten years and three kids.

Tonight I am trying out a new " Prime" location on the strip . It's in one of the last ghetto outdoor strip malls still on Las Vegas blv. The kind with liquor stores and T-shirts and souvenir stuff. The spot I'm going to be at is literally a foot from the sidewalk so there is a ton of foot traffic but will they be willing to stop and sit for any amount of time, outside, at night, in a crappy area? I think no , but I'm gonna find out tonight.

One of the Maya handbooks I bought came with Alias SketchBook pro for free. It has a very natural sketch feel to it . I did this tonight using it.

My weekly Maya workshop went well tonight, we are finally starting to make stuff happen. The program is so massive that it takes hours and hours just to begin to know your way around all of the basic functions. Tonight we built a solar system and animated the planets orbiting the sun, complete with a moon orbiting one of the planets and each planet spinning on it's own axis.

While we were driving home from watching Over the Hedge Emma asked to listen to "I want Candy". The version we have is the Aaron Carter version, so its very boy band-ish. After the song had ended Emma asked if we could listen to it again and since I don't really mind the song I played it again. As the song was nearing its end Loredana asked if I would please turn it off because it was giving her a headache. Twice was enough for me so I turned the song off. Then a moment of silence and Loredana says" Will you please put on Crazy Train?"

My DaVinci Code experience.

The other day Jeremiah posted about how he got to see a preview screening of Rocky Balboa. In his comments a blogger named G13 was ripping on the movie and I'm sure the movie is quite rip-able(I still want to see it in the theater though). I decided to check out G13's blogg but I was in a hurry for what ever reason and I just glanced at it and book marked it to check out later.A couple days ago I was reading bloggs and I went back to G13's blogg and was surprised by his most recent post. He was talking about how he was going to go out and protest the DaVinci code and how he changed his mind and decided to follow who's her face's idea to "othertest" it. Actualy he said courageous "othertest". Then he had a list of reasons not to see the DaVinci code.Thats when I had to stop reading because I planed on seeing the DaVinci code and I didn't want some fundamentalist wacko giving away key story points in his stupid list of why not to see the movie.I did for some some strange reason check out the link to the "othertest" lady's website. Yeah, she dumb. Then in a moment of weakness I read the first reason on G13's list of why not to see the DaVinci code. Reason number one. Tom Hanks is a cross dressing pervert. Great , I had limited knowledge of the Davinci Code but I was aware that femimininty played a big part, I guess G13 doesn't know the difference between an actor and the role he plays in a movie. I was looking forward to seeing the movie and coming strait home to comment on G13's Blogg. Cheryl and I watched the movie last night and I enjoyed it a lot. It wasnt great but there was alot of things in it that I'm a sucker for, controversial theology, freaky albinos, Indiana Jonesish artifact/crypt puzzles, Ian Mckellen, Tom Hanks, Leon, So I gave it some le-way. The review in this weeks EW is spot on to how I felt about the movie, C+. My DaVinci code moment came on the way to the car. Talking with Cheryl about the different parts of the movie G13's blogg started to flash in my mind al-la the way Tom Hank's character decodes things in the film. First was the cross dressing pervert thing, Hanks isn't a cross dresser in the film. Then the description of who's her face's "othertest" as courageous. Suddenly it was all clear. Cross dressing pervert, bosom buddies, Ah HA ! My attempt to avoid spoiling the movie blinded me. So when I got home I read the rest of the list and it's pretty damn funny. But not as funny as G13's mock radio calls blogg, that shit's a riot.

Over the hedge was good too, we took the kids this morning.

People always talk about the Han Shot first scene as betraying the character's ark from rouge to hero but no one ever talks about the most heinous betrayal to Han Solos character, by character I mean who he is and what he stands for.It happened in Return of the Jedi and its a hundred times worse than Han not shooting first( Which he no longer does in the newest DVD release)In Return of the Jedi when Han Solo is hanging from his feet attempting to shoot The Sarlac tentacle off of Lando's foot, Lando says" No wait! I thought you where blind!" and Han Solo replies" It's all right, Trust me." Can he see? Can he not see? We as the audience don't know , he's Han freakin Solo maybe he makes the shot blind, probly his vision has returned somewhat but we don/t know and that's what makes Solo so bad ass and big balled, until Lucas cut them off. Lando says" No wait! I thought you where blind!" and in the "special(as in retarded)edition" Han replies " Its all right, I can see a lot better now." snip.

Well all of you purists can finally have Star Wars the way you want it. This September moneybags Lucas will re-re-re-re-release the UNALTERED Original trilogy on DVD. I actually like the special -ed's better except for the one line in Jedi. To buy or not to buy. Not to buy.

"breakdown ,.... Breakthrough.

I ran all over town today trying to create some more work for myself. The sales at the desert passage have been really bad lately. I've tried to "sell" caricature before and have had very limited success at it.Ive even offered free drawings and people just look at me like I'm lying. Tonight, I found the magic words , I think. It was afterall only one night, butt I'm working tomorrow night and I'm gonna do the same thing. Tonight it resulted in four time the day crews sales and 60 dollars in tips.

The wire on that retro controler for the Wii plugs into the Wii controler so it is efectivly wireless.

Plays should be seen live and never filmed and put on dvd.

I just discoverd sticky keys as I was sitting here thinking about what to post. In windows if you rapidly tap the shift key five times it activates sticky keys.The shift, control, and alt buttons are always on. I might actualy use that. It could be useful for Photo shop and Maya.

Check out the retro controler for the Wii, this is what you would use for the downloadable classic games, I love the look except for the cord. I'll probly just use my wave bird since its backward compatible

While digging though her hope chest today Cheryl was struck by how many things can happen to you that you just forget about compleatly. She for a note a girl named Niki gave me, in the note she is warning me that some punkers wanted to kick my ass after school. I have no recolection of getting that note and I was never jumped by any punkers but I didnt like to fight so it seems like that note would have made me realy worried but not enough to lock into my long term memory.

I had a decent day at work today , witch was nice for a change. I drew some illistrations for the TV show mind freak, some magitians sawing weomen in half for a history of that trick peace the are doing on the show. When I find out when it Airs I will post the date. The Ofice season finale was good.

I took the kids to Emma's school carinval today and it was lame-o. The kids like it but thats because they dont know any better. there is now kind of presintation at the school carnivals theses days, no booths, no banners , just games sitting on the black top. To top it off this year they added a new level of suck. Last year when you played a game if you won you got a crappy prize and if you lost you got a extra crapy prize. This year you gave the game attendant your tickets and if you won they gave you a diferent color ticket. YEAH! a ticket!Then you take the winner ticket and go to the prize station ah-la peter pipper pizza. After we got home I was hanging with my gandmother and I was telling her about the carnival and she started reminising about carivals when my mom was a little girl. She siad they had a bucket of water witha dollar at the bottom and you had tho reach in and grab it, the thing was there was a generator hooked up to the bucket and you got shocked with an electric current so you couldnt grab it. She said the kids hand would flop aroud and not be able to hold the dollar. Then my mom said that her dad riged up a dummy that shocked you when you shook its hand. That stuff actualy sounds fun. The funest thing at Emmas carnival was the fishing game, and every one got the same exact prize a plush starfish that looked more like the cingular logo than a starfish, but at least you got a prize not a ticket.

I had a caricature gig tonight at the Venetian. It was for an escrow company or some thing like that. When Dave was describing the job to me he said that we would be wearing smocks and the floppy art hat that I cant spell. When I got to the dressing room our contact busted out with 1983 fluorescent paint splattered "smocks" that look like maternity clothes with a big floppy bow tie and matching floppy art hat that I cant spell. It looked really really dumb but I soon forgot how lame I looked and had a fun time, the funest I've had in a while doing what I do. Every one loved their drawlings and I drew mostly women. I drew all the ladies with big boobs and they couldn't get enuf, I ended up with 95. In tips. Then on the way to the green room after the show I ran into Sasha on the escalator. She was there belly dancing, I like running into people that I like running into, and sasha on of those people. Andy is going to e-mail me a picture of me in the dress errr smock and I will post it.

I was reading stories to Jack and Loredana tonight and while reading There's an Alligator Under My Bed for the second time in a row, I decided for my own entertainment to throw in a Louisianan accent. Loredana thought this was the funniest thing. In fact she laughed so hard she couldn't breath and started coughing, so I had to stop. That's the good stuff, making your daughter laugh so hard she almost throws up.

Three words for why the Nintendo Wii will rule the world, Zelda at Launch. Also a kids mom goes to get him the latest game system and on the shelf are the Wii at (rumored) 199.00 or the PS3 at (confirmed) 499.00 . Go to IGN.com and watch the E3 Wii videos and be happy a company like Nintendo exists.

I was reading People magazine at work today looking for someone famous to draw and two things realy freaked me out.

1. Kenny Rogers, if you didnt see him on American Idol he got plastic surgery and looks f'd in the A. His eyes are angled up and squinty, it just looks bad. In People the interviewer asked him about his surgery and he siad he wasnt happy with it and if the doctor couldnt fix it he would regret it or get over it. I was very surprized at his candid admition that he looks f'd up.I'm down with the roasters now I hope he gets his eyes fixed to his likeing.

2. There was a two page add for Diseny Land. This add was about Disney's new park program called magical beginings. It is several new additions to the park to help make it more kid friendly. FINALY! Disney has ignored the young child for two long! They finaly have picky eater menus and rides for young children and play areas. Seriously that what the add said.

We got back today from the ranch just outside Zion. As usual it was a wounderful time and Ive got pictures! Loredana and Emma loved the swing that went out over a cliff. I enjoyed the canoe alot. Just hanging out is one of my favorite things as well. The kids all love the oldschhool dangerous playground. We saw lots of huge jackrabits. On the guy hike I found a carcus.There were five DS's so I was in DS heaven.SET was the card game of choice this year( thanks Andy).The tallent show was awsome! Lastly I cracked the smore code and made campfire smores with MELTED chocolate.

We are off to Zion today , there are no computers at the ranch.In case you havent noticed Ive been obssesing alittle latly about posting every day.When I set a goal to do something every day/ week / month if I miss one time thats usualy the end of it soI was trying to come up with a way to post tomorow, like prewrite it and have kenny or kelly post it for me. But maybe not being able to post is kind of the piont. So I will break the chain! I know it will be dificult but all my faithful readers will have to survive without a new post from me tomorow( or no one would have even noticed if I hadnt said any thing.

Jerry got me a gig out at lake Las Vegas tonight, it was a wierd crowd. Not too many people wanted drawlings, that always makes me feel good ,when people dont want what I do even for free.But I still got payed cha-ching. Also one lady I drew said I have a perfect head.

I pooped my pants at the end of lost tonight.

My meeper model is progessing nicely, I finished the hands today. They didnt go smoothly but sometimes its good to have problems cause then you have to fix them. Next the head.

Jack got some DR. Acula fangs at Peter Piper tonight. He sticks half of the fangs in his mouth with the other half sticking straight out insted of folding them in properly. Its realy cute.

I saw thousands of people marching down Las Vegas blv, in protest of new imigation laws. The entire south bound side of the strip was closed and wall to wall people were chanting USA and carring banners and thier children. They were also chanting in spanish but , no abla.It was impresive , Ive never seen any thing like it.

There was a mamorial of sorts for Ovid tonight. I got to see a lot of old artist friends I dont that often see, and we told Ovid stories and toasted to his amazing and full life.
